About Us

Harris Worm Farm is located at Fascination Farm, a small family-owned horse facility in Mebane, North Carolina.

Our redworms (Eisenia fetida) are raised in beds enclosed by railroad ties and also windrows. We use the manure and sawdust mix from the stables primarily as bedding. We only used aged manure that has gone through the heat process and we know it will not harm the worms (they love it). We feed our woms fresh manure along with growing mash.

By vermicomposting at the farm, we have drastically reduced the manure and have produced rich castings that we also sell.

We have had the pleasure of learning the worm business from some of the largest worm growers in the United States and through experience.

We ship all of our worms in breathable cloth bags and guarantee live delivery.

John Harris, the Man Behind the Farm

John Harris has 18 outdoor worm beds on the ground bordered by railroad ties. His primary feedstocks are horse and cow manure, and he ships earthworms all over the United States.

John spoke about his experience running a worm farm at the North Caroilna State University's 10 Annual Vermiculture Conference on May 27-28, 2010.
